What is RAPID? The RAPID (Recording Academic, Professional and Individual Development) Progress File is a mechanism designed to enable and support you to monitor, build and reflect upon your personal and professional development. This version is specifically designed to assist students within the discipline of Building Engineering prepare for membership of the Association of Building Engineers (ABE). To gain membership of the ABE your students/graduates will need to have achieved a degree/diploma qualification through undergraduate / postgraduate study on an accredited degree/diploma course, together with two years of appropriate experience *. In the process your students/graduates will be expected to display relevant knowledge, competence in a range of skills, and an awareness of the value dimensions of building engineering work and the ethical responsibility of the engineer **. * Note: there is also a specifically designed 'distance learning' route, and special mechanisms to allow entry to the profession for engineers trained in other EU countries, and in some overseas countries.
