What do the competence
levels indicate?
Each skill within RAPID is presented to you in a similar fashion. The
skill template offers 4 levels or progressions of competence within a
particular skill ranging from a fairly basic level of competence (Statement
A) to a fairly advanced level of competence (Statement D).
Each competence level has been carefully drafted to correspond with a
particular level of competence, as defined by levels within the GNVQ /
NVQ Qualifications framework. This relationship is shown in table format
:-
Statement of Competence |
Corresponding GNVQ / NVQ Level |
Statement A |
Level 2 |
Statement B |
Level 3 |
Statement C |
Threshold Levels 3 / 4 |
Statement D |
Threshold Levels 4 / 5 |
Thus a competence statement level in one skill is equivalent to a competence
statement level in another. (Please note that you will not necessarily
need to reach the same level in each of the skills to satisfy membership
requirements of the ABE.)
