Using PACE

PACE is the section of RAPID which allows you to record and maintain details on:

  • Personal information
  • Achievements (academic and otherwise)
  • Continuous Professional Development
  • Employment details
  • Qualifications etc.

NB: you can only record information using your Loughborough University user name and password (the username and password which you usually use for reading e-mail). All of the information that you place in your record can only be accessed and seen by you.

The recording pages include:-

A. Personal Information

This allows you to detail basic information such as name, address, etc.

B. Personal statement

The 'personal statement' should include a brief account if your achievements, experiences, strengths and personal qualities. This can then be used at a later date to assist you in the completion of curriculum vitae and application letters. We would suggest that your personal statement should not exceed 500 words in length.

C. Academic Qualifications

This allows you to record your qualifications.

D. Other achievements

This section allows you to record achievements and accomplishments that you have not included in your 'personal statement' or list of qualifications. These can include achievements from any field: academic, sporting, the arts, media, politics, community service etc.

E. Employment Information

This page allows you to record your past and present employment details. For each position you have held you might wish to record:

  • Employer
  • Date started / finished
  • Responsibilities
  • Name of Referee
  • Referee's address / phone number / fax number / e-mail address

F. Career Development

This part of your record is designed to enable you to record information that may assist your professional development. In particular, you could use this to maintain information on employment opportunities or to record information of future events (conferences, lectures, meetings etc.) that might benefit your professional development. In short this part of your record allows you to maintain a record of 'Career Development' activities and future plans.

G. DIS Record (Loughborough Students only)

This section enables you to record summary details on the work placement activities you undertook during your degree programme.

The options available to you in PACE will allow you to record and maintain comprehensive information relevant to your personal and professional development. Please use these guidelines to allow you to become fully conversant with all the recording options available to you.
